**I want to add that these are our personal opinions from our experience at this hotel. We do not do sponsored trips so this was our experience staying and paying for this hotel just like anyone else would do!

Pros of Staying at Black Beach Suites

When it comes to staying at the Black Beach Suites, there are so many things to love! Below are some of the pros of staying at this hotel in Vik, Iceland.

✅ Comfortable Studio Style Rooms

Black Beach Suites offers two different kinds of rooms: the standard studio and the deluxe king studio. Both rooms are very spacious, with the deluxe king studio being only slightly larger.

We stayed in the standard studio and loved it. The bed was very comfortable and they had blackout curtains to ensure a great night’s sleep. The studio has a modern décor style that is sleek and clean.

    ✅ The Incredible View

One of the best things about staying at the Black Beach Suites in Vik is the sweeping views you get from your room. The room has floor to ceiling windows that overlook the vast landscape with the sea in the distance – its a great view to wake up to.

I absolutely loved having my morning coffee here while enjoying these stunning views of Iceland.

    ✅ Great Amenities

The suites themselves have plenty of amenities including a TV with Netflix, a seating area, and a kitchen with appliances. We honestly just used the coffee maker, but you could cook a simple meal here.

There is also a bar in the Barn Hostel next door if you are looking to have a drink or snack. We didn’t make it over there for a drink, but it looked like a cool spot.

    ✅ Friendly Staff

Since the rooms are suite-style studios, you will actually check in at the Barn Hostel reception located next door. The staff is so friendly & welcoming, and willing to help with any questions you may have about the area or things to do.

We stayed here while on our honeymoon in Iceland and my husband lost his wedding ring. We called the hotel after we had left and they were so helpful in trying to look for it. 10/10 customer service.

Cons of Staying at the Black Beach Suites

I’ll be honest here – it was so hard to come up with any cons because I really enjoyed staying at the Black Beach Suites. The points below aren’t really even cons, they are just things to consider.

🚫 Need to Book this Hotel in Advance

Black Beach Suites is a popular hotel that only has a few apartment-style rooms. Due to the popularity, you’ll need to book this hotel well in advance.

Having to book in advance can definitely be a con if you prefer to be more flexible while taking a road trip through Iceland.

☑️ Important Tip: I highly recommend booking through Expedia or Booking.com and choosing the free cancellation option. Iceland’s weather can make you change plans (or you may just change plans) so I advise to always book free cancellation when possible.

🚫 Not Right in the Town of Vik

Honestly, the only other “con” that I can think of is that the hotel isn’t right in the town of Vik, which means you’ll need to do a short drive to reach restaurants or shops in Vik.
The drive to Vik takes about 10 minute drive, and the drive is a little bit steep going to Vik. We visited in June, so this drive was no problem at all. However if the weather was bad it could be difficult.
On the positive side, being outside the town means you’ll have undisturbed, beautiful views!

Cost of Staying at Black Beach Suites

I want to say that staying here was expensive, but at the same time I feel like everything is expensive in Iceland (especially in high season).

In fact, when I compare this hotel to the other hotels in Vik, the price per night is very similar.

Plus for how nice the room is, it is 100% worth the cost to stay here in my opinion.

    Low Season Rates: $215 – $275 range
    High Season Rates: $340 – $375 range

💲 FYI: Like all hotels, nightly rates change based on a variety of factors (weekday vs weekend, seasonality, etc.) so you will want to check the rate for Black Beach Suites here..
