Dukes Academie Brugge is a boutique 4 star hotel located in the historic center of Bruges, Belgium. We personally stayed at this hotel on our trip to Bruges and I highly recommend it.

In our experience this hotel was the perfect combination of friendly staff, beautifully decorated, and a very convenient location. You’ll see on booking.com it is rated a 9.0 but I’d give it a 10! I want to note that this review is based completely on our personal experience, it was not a sponsored trip.

Dukes Academie Brugge: The Perfect Location

Dukes Academie Brugge is located at Wijngaardstraat 7/9, 8000 Brugge, Belgium. The location is ideal due to its ease of access to both the historic center and attractions in Bruges and walking distance from the train station.

Historic Center of Bruges

The hotel is in the perfect location as it is the start of the historic center of Bruges and so you can easily access popular sites such as the Grote Markt, Canal tours, or the Groeningemuseum within 10 minutes of walking.

The hotel is located in a beautiful part of Bruges, and is very close to the lovely Minnewater park where you will see the Lake of Love and the Swans of Bruges.

Easy Access to the Train Station & Parking

One great advantage to this hotel is that it is an easy 10 minute walk to the train station. We took the train in from Brussels, and we were easily able to walk with our luggage to the hotel, no taxi needed!

Additionally, the walk from the train station is surprisingly beautiful, as it passes by Minnewater Lake, or the Lake of Love. You’ll cross a small bridge into the historic center and see the beautiful lake with swans floating amongst the lovely Flemish architecture.

Driving to Bruges? This hotel is a convenient place to stay when driving or renting a car as they offer parking. Since Bruges is a small medieval city, parking is difficult to find elsewhere.

Is Dukes Academie Brugge good for couples?

I highly recommend this hotel for couples. We stayed here on our one year wedding anniversary and it was an absolute dream! Bruges is already a very romantic city, but staying here was the icing on top.

Is it a good hotel for families?

This is a great option for families, as it is a well located hotel. They have rooms that can fit 4 people, which is not always common in European cities. This makes it ideal for families with children. Additionally, little ones will love seeing the swans at minnewater park!

Should Solo Travelers Stay Here?

This hotel is also a great option for solo travelers because there is a single room available that is the perfect size for 1 adult. The single room is a perfect affordable for solo travelers, and Bruges is a great city for solo travel.
