5 Ways to get from Dubrovnik Airport to Old Town
Dubrovnik International Airport (DBV) is located 20.8km from Dubrovnik’s Old Town. The drive takes around 25 minutes without any traffic.
There is no train in Dubrovnik, and so your options are a private transfer, bus, taxi, Uber, or rental car. Below, you will find more information on each option including what the cost is, how to book, and other tips.
Keep in mind, that the walled Old Town of Dubrovnik is a pedestrian-only zone, and so once you arrive to Old Town you will need to enter on foot trough one of the 3 gates: Buza Gate, Ploče Gate, or Pile Gate.

1. Dubrovnik Airport Transfer
The easiest and most convenient way to get from the Dubrovnik Airport to Old Town is by booking a private airport transfer.

Taking the bus is the cheapest way to get from the Dubrovnik Airport to Old Town. There are two options when it comes to taking the bus: the Airport Shuttle Bus or the Public Transport Libertas Bus.
Platanus Airport Shuttle Bus
The Platanus Airport Shuttle is a direct shuttle bus between Dubrovnik’s Airport and the city center. The shuttle bus leaves about 30 minutes after each flight arrives.
Tickets are €10 one way and €14 for roundtrip. Tickets can be purchased at the Platanus travel agency counter next to the baggage claim or from the main bus station in Dubrovnik.

The Dubrovnik public bus lines 11, 27 and 38 also go between Dubrovnik Airport and the city center. Times vary and tickets can be purchased on the bus.
3. Taxi
Taking a taxi is another option for getting to the old town from the Dubrovnik Airport.
Taxis are a good choice for those who don’t want to pre-book a transfer, but prefer not to use public transport. Keep in mind that with taxis there may be a wait depending on how busy the airport is that day.
Taxis are available daily during the opening hours of the airport, and to get one you will simply go to the official Taxi line.
Additionally, taxis are available from the airport to Cavat, Mlini, Herceg Novi, Orasac and Lapad.

The taxi stop at Dubrovnik Airport is in front of the passenger terminal of Building B (Domestic and International Arrivals).

Cost for a Taxi at Dubrovnik Airport
Currently, the cost of a taxi from the airport to Dubrovnik city center is a fixed €30 (around $33 USD), plus a small tip of €1 to €3. Most taxis will only accept cash, not credit card.
Taxi prices from the airport to old town are publicly posted at the airport, so you can make sure you have the correct pricing before taking the ride.

4. Uber
Uber is available throughout the city of Dubrovnik, so you can take an Uber from the Dubrovnik Airport to Old Town.
I personally used Uber a few times while in the city of Dubrovnik and had a pretty good experience. There was one Uber that didn’t have seatbelts working in the back, which isn’t a big deal to some people.. but I definitely feel safer wearing a seatbelt!
Over all, the service was reliable and it was usually only around 10-15 minutes to get an Uber during the summer season.
Where to get an Uber at Dubrovnik Airport
Uber has a specific pick up point at the Dubrovnik Airport, and typically it is to the left side of the taxi rank at Terminal B.
However this pickup point is subject to change and so you will want to go to the pickup point shown in your Uber app.
Cost of Uber from Dubrovnik Airport
Typically, the cost of an Uber from Dubrovnik Airport to the city center is around €25 ($27 USD), plus a small tip. Since Uber is paid via the app, you don’t need to worry about having cash.
Keep in mind the cost of an Uber to Old Town can vary, as Uber does use surge pricing for peak hours (especially during summer season).
However, you will be able to see the exact cost in the Uber app prior to booking the ride which is helpful.
5. Rent a Car
Last but not least, you can rent a car from the Dubrovnik Airport. The drive is around 20km and usually takes around 25 minutes without traffic.
Insider Tip: If you are only visiting Dubrovnik, I do NOT recommend renting a car. Dubrovnik is a fairly walkable city and Dubrovnik’s Old Town is a pedestrian only zone. You will not need a car if you are only staying in Dubrovnik.
However, if you plan to visit other places in Croatia, like driving to Split or even taking day trips on your own to places like Kotor, then it would be good to rent a car to have more freedom and flexibility.
